Weeds is a US comedy-drama television series created by Jenji Kohan, produced by Lionsgate Television for the Showtime network.
The plot revolves around a widowed housewife (Mary-Louise Parker) from an affluent California suburb who becomes her neighborhood’s marijuana dealer to make ends meet. The show’s inspiration comes from the current affairs revolving around the medical marijuana community in California and its recent explosion of growers and consumers.
Weeds currently comprises five seasons that began airing in August 2005. It was the highest rated series for Showtime its first year; its fourth-season premiere attracted 1.3 million viewers to Showtime, the channel’s highest-ever viewership; the season as a whole averaged 962,000 viewers.[citation needed] Showtime announced on July 18, 2008 that two more seasons of thirteen episodes each will be produced. Season 5 premiered to 1.2 million viewers, with a rerun on the same night adding another 500,000 viewers for a cumulative 1.7 million.

Mental is a television series, produced by FOX’s subsidiary Fox Telecolombia, which is debuting in 2009 on FOX international channels for Latin America, Europe and Asia, starring Chris Vance and Annabella Sciorra. Mental is executive-produced by Deborah Joy LeVine – creator of the successful drama series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and the Lifetime series The Division, and executive producer of Any Day Now, Dawson’s Creek and the CBS series Early Edition – and her brother and writing/producing partner, Dan LeVine.
Mental is slated to air Summer 2009 on FOX, as well as 35 additional countries following its U.S. debut. Fox Latin America will air the first episode as a “Worldwide Premiere” on June 2, 2009. Nevertheless FOX will air the pilot episode on May 26, 2009 for the American market. Fox TV Studios ordered 13 episodes. It began production on June 2, 2008 at the Fox Telecolombia production facilities in Bogota; although the series is filming in Colombia, no Colombian actor was cast as a regular character and very few were cast for occasional roles, because of the strict American nature of the series, according to TVWeek Jacqueline McKenzie, Derek Webster, Nicholas Gonzalez and Marisa Ramirez have been added to the cast of Mental, “probably as recurrent characters.”.

Desperate Housewives is an American television comedy-drama series, created by Marc Cherry, who also serves as show runner, and produced by ABC Studios and Cherry Productions. Executive producers, as of the fourth season, are Marc Cherry, Bob Daily, George W. Perkins, John Pardee and Joey Murphy, David Grossman, Larry Shaw and Sabrina Wind.
The setting of the show is the street of Wisteria Lane in the fictional American town of Fairview, Eagle State. It follows the lives of a group of women, seen through the eyes of their dead neighbor, as they work through domestic struggles and family life, while facing the secrets, crimes and mysteries hidden behind the doors of their – at the surface – beautiful suburban neighborhood. The show features an ensemble cast, headed by Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Hodge, Eva Longoria Parker as Gabrielle Solis, Nicollette Sheridan as Edie Britt and, from season 4 onwards, Dana Delany as Katherine Mayfair. Brenda Strong narrates the show as the deceased Mary Alice Young.
